Toronto Star sports reporter Randy Starkman has been awarded the 2008 Dr. Tom Pashby Sports Safety Award.
The award honours contributions to public education about causes, consequences and prevention of injuries in sports and recreation. It comes with a $10,000 prize, but Starkman said he plans to give it to the
Dovercourt Boys and Girls Club in Toronto.
Starkman was nominated for the award by Star sports columnist Dave Perkins.
