Network. Pitch. Twitter. Read. Buy people lunch.
This
two-part blog post comes from copy editor/ San Jose journalism student
Suzanne Yada, replete with resolutions for j-schoolers and beyond.
The
first part encourages young journalists to learn skills that
will make them “invaluable”; the
second urges us to “network like mad”.
There are
some very useful links in here too, to job boards and other media
sites.
Judging from the comments and web shout-outs, Yada
seems to have made a splash in the online community with her words of
wisdom.
Resolution: accomplished.
