Canwest Broadcasting announced Wednesday that Troy Reeb has been appointed as senior vice-president of news and current affairs. According to a news release, Reeb will focus on the strategic direction of Global News and CH News, as well as be a big part of the upcoming launches of Global National foreign bureaus in London, Beijing, New Delhi and Jerusalem. As well, Canwest said Reeb will help launch a newsmagazine show this fall and new digital production centres in Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto.
Reeb has been with Global News since 1999, as a political correspondent, Washington bureau chief and White House correspondent. Previous to this appointment he was vice-president of news operations.
Reeb replaces Steve Wyatt, who recently retired after thirty years in the broadcast news business.
