A week after the New York Times dropped its online subscription fees, the head of the Wall Street Journal is suggesting it may do the same. News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch told analysts this week that the paper may be moving to a free online content model. The Globe and Mail reports that many other newspapers, including the Globe itself which offers a mix of free and paid online content, are watching these moves closely as the future of news and information online changes.
