Toronto Star’s foreign affairs reporter Rick Westhead is leaving the newspaper to join TSN as the network’s senior correspondent.
According to a press release, Westhead will create original content that will be featured across TSN platforms.
“Rick is a distinguished journalist and bolsters our team of reporters and Insiders,” said Ken Volden, vice-president and executive producer of news and information at TSN. “As our senior correspondent, we’ll continue to let him uncover compelling stories from the sports world. We’re very proud to showcase his respected work across all of our platforms.”
In addition to his foreign reporting, Westhead has also reported for the Star on the sports industry, including the inner workings of the Continental Hockey League and the unionization attempts of the CHL.
“I plan to tackle issues nobody else wants to take on and offer up new perspectives on stories making headlines and the ones that are not on anyone’s radar,” Westhead said in the press release.
