Starting Monday, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) will review CBC/Radio-Canada and determine if the broadcaster's licences will be renewed.

The CRTC has said that the hearings, held in Gatineau, Que., will include discussions about CBC/Radio-Canada's strategy, the quality of French and English services, the addition of advertising to Radio 2 and Espace Musique and regional service in northern Canada.

The CRTC has said that the hearings, held in Gatineau, Que., will include discussions about CBC/Radio-Canada's strategy, the quality of French and English services, the addition of advertising to Radio 2 and Espace Musique and regional service in northern Canada.

"It's been 13 years since our licences were renewed. This is an important process and we look forward to working with the commission on exploring ways to meet our challenges," Hubert Lacroix, president and CEO of CBC/Radio-Canada, said back in September.

Up until Oct. 5, the public was welcome to submit comments about the renewal process to the CRTC.
