This year there were two worthy recipients of the Greg Clark Award.
Shi Davidi graduated from Ryerson Journalism in 1999 and is baseball writer for The Canadian Press in Toronto. He is looking for background knowledge that will help him provide readers with baseball reporting in greater depth. The CJF has assisted with arranging for Shi to have unfettered access to the Montreal Expos for the final six games of the season.
The other award winner for 2004 was Matt Silver of Victoria, B.C. This spring Matt completed the three-year Bachelor of Journalism program at University College of the Cariboo in Kamloops. He has been hired as Editor-in-Chief of the Omega, the university newspaper in Kamloops and takes up that position in August. His award will allow him to spend part of the summer working with Andy Clark, an award-winning professional photojournalist.
