The Greg Clark Award allows working journalists opportunities to learn more about the fields they cover. It opens doors into organizations in which journalists gain special background and insights, meet key players and generally learn more about the subjects of their reporting.
This year's recipient of the Greg Clark Award is André Dumont. He is currently the Eastern Ontario Correspondent for Le Droit, an Ottawa based French language daily newspaper. He reports primarily on municipal affairs, agriculture, education and economic development. André is looking for the opportunity to better understand rural issues in another part of Canada and to better compare journalism practices in French and English Canada. This award will allow him to spend a week with an experienced journalist from an English language daily in a mostly rural part of Western Canada.
